School Board Candidate Profile – At-Large: Dave Wihby
Has the right temperament and expertise
Dave Wihby is a community leader hoping to bring a renewed professionalism and civility to the School Board. Dave Wihby is a former Alderman who was known as the budget “guru” during his tenure in City Hall. In these tough economic times the School Board will benefit from Wihby’s much needed budget experience and expertise. Dave Wihby is also credited for his soft spoken leadership style and even-handed temperament which will help the School Board stay on track and keep focused. For his many years of dedicated service at City Hall the playground at Livingston Park was named in his honor.In his own words:
Why am I running for School Board? Having served as Alderman, I worked with both the School Board and Board of Aldermen and had to make tough decisions. In this economy, we are at a crossroads with our schools and working through this will need leadership. I feel with my experience, I can contribute to having a better relationship between the School Board and Board of Mayor and Aldermen and bring civility back to our great city.
Biography:
Dave Wihby resides in Ward 1 and he served as the beloved Ward Alderman for 18 years. He has three grown children that all attended Manchester public schools.
