In his words:

Why am I running for Mayor? Two years ago I decided to run for Mayor because I wanted to make a difference. The Queen City has been, and continues to be kind to me and my family and it was time to give back. Today, I believe I am making a difference. Despite the economic challenges facing the country, the state and the city we continue to remain vibrant and prosper. There is development occurring throughout the city, our schools are reaching new heights and our quality of life is high.

Biography:

Mayor Ted Gatsas is a lifelong resident of Manchester. He attended Manchester public schools and is a graduate of Smyth Road Elementary School and Manchester High School Central. Ted earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Gatsas first took elective office in 2000 as the Ward 2 Alderman and served 5 terms (2000 2010). He was elected to the New Hampshire State Senate representing District 16 from 2000-2009. He served as Alderman and State Senator concurrently. On November 3, 2009 Ted Gatsas was elected as Manchester’s 47th Mayor. Mayor Gatsas resides in Ward 2 with his wife Cassandra.

Wants to combine personal experiences to make Manchester better

Diane Guimond is a newcomer to the political scene. Her motivation for running is simply this: to make Manchester a better place. She admits running for the Welfare Commissioner job isn’t easy. People either don’t know a whole lot about the job or don’t want to. Diane is proud to be endorsed by her former primary opponents and is out going door to door winning the hard way – one vote at a time.

In her words:

Why am I running? I recognize the impact government decisions have on taxpayers’ wallets, and I take fiscal responsibility seriously and that is why I am seeking the Welfare Commissioner position. To be successful you must use every resource and I will tap every one of them to efficiently, and effectively, network with my counterparts from other cities, counties and state agencies. I am a person of integrity and I am the most qualified candidate for Welfare Commissioner.

Biography:

Diane has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, advanced studies in counseling and years of public service and management which will be a real asset to her position. She is a lifelong Manchester resident, a grandmother, a sister, mother and aunt with a big heart who wants to serve her community.

Joe knows Manchester!

Joe Kelly Levasseur is probably one of the hardest working people in Manchester. He’s a business owner, a property owner and one awesome dad. Joe doesn’t really know how to relax he’s always on the move and that has been a real plus for the taxpayers of Manchester. As a citizen he’s always been there to fight for the taxpayers and fight for the little guy. That’s Joe and that’s why people love him.In his own words:

Why am I running? I am running to fight for Manchester’s future. I am very bullish on Manchester and that is precisely what the taxpayers need. I sincerely believe that Manchester is the best place to live, raise a family and own a business and I am running to make sure that doesn’t change.

Biography:

Joe Kelly Levasseur owns Theo’s Restaurant on Elm Street and is also a practicing self-employed attorney. He is a lifelong resident of Manchester and graduated from Manchester Memorial High School. He managed to find time to put himself through college, graduate school and law school while working full time.

Unmatched business experience and service

Will has just the right temperament for the Alderman At-Large position – he is always calm, cool and collected and that will serve the taxpayers well. Will is a big proponent of the tax cap and was concerned two years ago when the current Aldermen At-Large tried to stop it from going on the ballot. Eventually the tax cap passed and Will Infantine was just one of the many driving forces behind it.

In his own words:

Why am I running? As a taxpayer and a business owner I have made a significant investment in Manchester. As an investor I do not feel that the current Aldermen At-Large are doing all they can to protect my families investment. Each has served for over a dozen years and it’s time for new leadership – it’s time for a change. In the years they have served they have voted for tax increases which cannot be afforded.

Biography:

Will Infantine and his wife Christine have lived in Manchester for 15 years. They own a home in Ward 6 and their children attend Manchester public schools. 10 years ago Infantine moved his business to Manchester. Will Infantine is also a State Representative and serves as Vice Chair of the Labor Committee.

A newcomer committed to Ward 12

When you meet Mark Nadzan, you instantly like Mark Nadzan. He’s about family and making sure he can do all he can to leave the world a better place. On the weekends you can find him with his wife and kids at a baseball game, a hockey game, apple picking or taking in one of the many family friendly events in Manchester. During the week, you can find him hard at work.

In his own words:

Why am I running? I am a hard-working family man. As Alderman I will be fiscally responsible because tax dollars are your dollars. I am committed to public safety and keeping our neighborhoods safe. As a parent I also want the best schools for my kids and yours. I am also realistic about our tax dollars – they are limited and they are scarce – in the next two years we need to do better. As your Alderman I promise balanced leadership.

Running to control spending and keep the bottom line balanced

Emily Sandblade believes in a tax cap. Why? It’s simple she wants to control spending. She doesn’t want to be called a politician because she’s not. She’s a citizen that cares about her tax burden. She believes that government must live within its-and our- means.

In her own words:

Why am I running? Manchester city spending is out of control. For the last 10 years spending per person has increased much faster than inflation. The government takes more of our income every year, without a real increase in service quality. I also want to make Manchester more business and job friendly. We need to attract more jobs and better jobs.

Biography:

Emily is a software engineer specializing in developing math and science educational software. Emily is a mathemetician and physicist by education and in her free time she tutors students in math and science.

Re-elect the guy that gets it!

It’s hard to believe that this was Phil Greazzo’s first term as Alderman because this guy gets it. He really, really gets it. In his next term Phil Greazzo realizes that there are two items facing the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of absolute importance to the taxpayers that must be dealt with: the budget and labor contracts.

In his own words:

Why am I running? There are very serious matters to be dealt with in the next two years. The city budget is the biggest item and affects all of us. I am running to keep the budget focused on the necessities and to eliminate wasteful spending. The second biggest is labor contracts with the growing number of unionized employees. Without a fiscal conservative, like myself, on the Board the taxpayers will be on the losing end for years to come. I am running to keep up the fight for the taxpayers.
